At Kids First Immediate Care, you will find Pediatric specialists on-site to care for you or your children.  We believe in providing quality medical care in a comfortable environment, where everyone is treated with dignity and respect.  Our patient's health and comfort are our top priorities.  In keeping with that principle, and to ease our patients' distress, we do our utmost to ensure that no one is kept waiting or worrying for hours to have their needs met and their fears and concerns alleviated.  We also respect the fact that you may have other demands on your time and would appreciate having your health problems attended to expeditiously. 

Please note that we are a Pediatric Urgent Care.  We do not see patients who are 18 or older and do not accept Medicare.  For those patients outside our age range, please see the listing for other Lansing Area Urgent Care centers under our Medical Practice Links.

For the convenience and comfort of our patients, we have separate waiting rooms for children and young adults.  The children's waiting room contains age-appropriate reading material, play areas and movies for children.  The young adults' waiting room offers free Wi-Fi hotspots, TV, gaming area and study tables.   

We accept many medical insurance plans, please call for up-to-date information.  If you do not have insurance or prefer to pay cash or with a credit card, please be advised we offer a discount for same day payments for urgent care fees.

What do I need to bring to KFIC?

Please bring your most recent insurance card, driver's license or photo ID and any important medical information. Please be sure to let our staff know of ANY allergies, current medications and your medical history.  Find our New Patient Forms Here.

Treatment of Unaccompanied Minors

Patients who are less than 18 years of age will require consent for treatment by a parent or other legal guardian. If a parent or legal guardian does not accompany the patient to the visit, the parent or legal guardian may write a note or use our Consent to Treat Minor Form and have the child bring it to the clinic or fax it to the clinic prior to the patient being seen.

According to Michigan State Law, patients who are less than 18 years of age and who are emancipated and living on their own do not need a parental consent. Patients who are less than 18 years of age and are being seen for a sexual-related matter also do not need a parental consent.

Prescription Refills

As an urgent care facility, our clinic does not offer prescription refills over the telephone. The best thing to do for a prescription refill is to call your primary care provider (PCP). If you are unable to reach your PCP and need more of the medication we prescribed, you will need to be seen by us again. PCPs should manage any long-term conditions. If you are unable to see your PCP to get a refill of one of your long-term medications, we may be able to assist you by giving you a refill for a short period of time if we complete an evaluation by our medical staff, which will then refer you back to your primary care provider.

As a private clinic, we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason, including, but not limited to:

  • Patrons or patients who are rude, unreasonably rowdy or causing trouble
  • Patrons or patients that may overfill capacity if allowed into the building
  • Patrons or patients who come in just before closing time or when we are closed
  • Patrons or patients who are not current on their outstanding balances
  • Patrons or patients accompanied by non-customers looking to disrupt business
  • Patrons or patients lacking adequate hygiene (e.g. excess dirt, extreme body odor)
  • In cases where refusal of service is warranted due to a customer’s presence detracting from the safety, welfare, and well-being of other patrons or patients and the clinic itself.
